We are excited that you are considering transferring to CTC. After you complete the steps listed below for college admission, we are sure you will have questions about the transfer of your previous credits. That information can be found in the college catalog under the Student Records and Registration section. Decisions about the acceptance for credits earned outside the college are made in the Records Office.
How to enroll at CTC if you are a transfer student:
- Submit a completed application for admission to the Office of Admissions and a $20.00 (nonrefundable) application fee along with official transcripts from ALL previously attended colleges/universities. Students without a college degree must also submit an official high school or GED transcript. These items should be submitted simultaneously. Home schooled students, please review your requirements HERE.
- Take the placement test. Each campus hosts placement testing at different times. You may exempt the test if you submit acceptable ACT (19 English, 19 Reading, and 19 Math), SAT (460 Critical Reading and 440 Math), COMPASS, or ASSET scores not more than sixty (60) months old. You may also exempt the test if you have taken college level math and English credit courses and earned a grade of “C” or higher and CTC accepts the class for transfer credit.
Apply for and complete financial aid (HOPE, Pell, etc.) before the posted deadlines if you so choose.
NOTE: The College only accepts documents that arrive at CTC in a sealed issuing institution envelope. Open copies will NOT be accepted. All official electronic transcripts should be sent to Ashleigh.Baham@chattahoocheetech.edu.
Students who attended school outside the US are required to have foreign transcripts sent to an evaluation agency. Foreign documents will not be accepted. Check with International Services for a list of acceptable agencies: 770.528.4528
For information about classes accepted at University System of Georgia colleges/universities from the Technical College System of Georgia please view this Transfer Agreement Chart.
Transfer Student Academic Standing Policy
Chattahoochee Technical College honors academic standing policies from other institutions. If a student has been academically suspended or dismissed from their previous institution immediately before applying to CTC, the student will be required to sit out one semester before enrolling at CTC. (Example: Student A was placed on academic suspension following Spring Semester 2015. Based on this policy, Student A must sit out Summer Semester 2015 and apply to CTC as a transfer student for Fall Semester 2015.)
If a student has left their previous institution with an academic standing of probation or suspension, provided at least one term has passed since suspension, the student will be accepted at CTC on academic probation. Students with this standing must earn a 2.0 GPA their first semester or be placed on academic suspension at CTC.
