Eligibility Requirements for Dual Enrollment

The purpose of the Dual Enrollment program is to promote and increase access to post-secondary educational opportunities for Georgia high school students while increasing high school graduation rates, preparing a skilled workforce, and decreasing time and cost to post-secondary credential completion.

To be eligible for the Dual Enrollment program a student:

Must be enrolled in 10th, 11th, or 12th grade (on semester of acceptance).

Must be enrolled in an eligible Georgia public or private high school or home study program operating in accordance with O.C.G.A 20-2-690.

Must be registered only for courses listed in the approved Dual Enrollment Course Directory.

Must be accepted to the College by completing all admissions steps by the applicable deadline.

Is only permitted to take up to 15 credit hours per semester total (including all colleges attending).

Any student who is in 10th grade is only permitted to take CTAE/Occupational course(s) and is not allowed to take CORE classes unless qualifying ACT or SAT scores are received. GSFC’s GAfutures website provides a list of funding course categories differentiating CTAE and CORE classes.
