School of Nursing Application Session FAQs

The School of Nursing will hold Virtual Application Sessions for all Nursing Programs. The application sessions will be held via Webex, a video conference software. Below you will find frequently asked questions with answers.

What is a virtual application session?

A Virtual Application Session is where the Nursing program discusses admission and program requirements in an online environment.
 
 

Am I required to attend a virtual application session?

Yes, if you plan to applying to a nursing program at Chattahoochee Technical College, you must attend a virtual application session.
 
 

When are the virtual application sessions?

If applying to Spring semester, the virtual application sessions are typically held in the Summer semester prior. If applying to Fall semester, the virtual application sessions are typically held the Spring semester prior. For specific dates, please visit our Application Session Registration pages:
 

How do I sign-up for a virtual application session?

Links to register for a virtual application session are located on the program’s respective Application Session Registration page:
Once on the page, select the registration button provided to pick a date and sign-up. Please note that each session has limited seating, so sign-up early.
 
 

How long are the sessions?

The virtual application sessions can last from one hour to an hour and half depending on the number of questions asked during the session.
 
 

What is Webex?

Webex is a video conferencing system. Webex allows participants to log into the video conference via a cellular device or on a computer. For more information, please review the Cisco Webex Help site.
 
 

On the day of the session, how do I join?

  1. You will need internet access to join the application session.
  2. Virtual application sessions are held via Webex. Twenty-four (24) to forty-eight (48) hours prior to the session, you will receive an email with the link and steps to join the virtual application session.
  3. Make sure to sign on ten (10) minutes prior to the start of the call to allow for any technical difficulties.

Webex says I can dial in. Why can’t I dial in for virtual application sessions?

We will be showing a PowerPoint presentation and taking attendance. Therefore, we are requiring all applicants to join via video conference. The link for the application to the Nursing program will also be sent in the chat in Webex.
 
 

Do I need to have my camera on during the application session?

No, you do not have to have your camera on during the application session.
 
 

What if something happens the day of the virtual session and I can’t log-in on time?

There will be a ten (10) minute grace period after the start of the call. After ten (10) minutes, the session will be locked and you will have to make plans to attend another application session.
 
 

Does the School of Nursing have any advice that will help me be successful in being able to attend a virtual application session?

  1. Register as soon as possible to secure your seat.
  2. On the day of the session, join the session at least ten (10) minutes prior to the start of the application session.
  3. Make sure your internet is working.
  4. If you need help, go to Webex and learn how to log into a video conference.
  5. If you still are unsure, you can reach out to the School of Nursing’s Administrative Assistant at CTC.ASN@chattahoocheetech.edu. Please allow 24 hours for a response.
  6. Make sure you input the correct email address when registering for a virtual session. If your email address is incorrect, you will not receive the application link and will be required to register for another session.
  7. Due to the number of students who are interested in applying for Nursing Programs, the School of Nursing will not be able to look up, edit, or correct email addresses. We will only use the email address provided through registration. Thank you for your understanding!
