The Department of Public Safety is charged with the mission of providing a safe environment in which the faculty, staff, students, and visitors to Chattahoochee Technical can pursue the primary mission of CTC, which is that of providing educational opportunities for the workforce of Georgia in the areas served by the respective campuses.
Who We Are
The Chattahoochee Technical College’s Public Safety department maintains a force of 25 Public Safety Officers that are Georgia POST Certified Police Officers. Public Safety also employs Non-Certified Security Officers who provide additional security by patrolling parking lots and buildings, assisting motorists and providing safety escorts. Public Safety will always conduct all law enforcement tasks with a proactive, service-oriented and safety first approach. Other services provided are listed below.

- Medical emergencies
- Emergency jump starts
- Parking permits
- Student identification cards
- Lost and Found
-Found items should be turned into Public Safety as soon as possible. If you are inquiring about a lost item, please contact Public Safety at 770-529-2311.
- Routine patrols
Public Safety will not unlock vehicles to retrieve keys. Emergency situations in regards to unlocking your vehicle will be handled on a case by case basis.

All CTC Public Safety Officers have the power of arrest and the authority to enforce all Federal, State and Local laws in a fair and impartial manner. Their jurisdiction includes the entire campus and extends to any CTC property controlled by the Technical College System of Georgia.
Assistance from other Agencies
CTC Public Safety has established open lines of communication with bordering law enforcement agencies at all eight of our campuses. This has been done so that information can be exchanged freely between departments. This will assist us if needed, with investigations, mutual aid, and training.
