Student Leadership Academy Participants Are Learning from Community and Business Leaders

Chattahoochee Tech students selected for participation in the college’s 2020 Student Leadership Academy gathered at the North Metro Campus Friday, Feb. 7, for a session led by Jim Larson, the corporate training manager for Yancey Bros. Co. Larson also serves as vice chair for the Chattahoochee Tech Board of Directors.

The 2020 Student Leadership Academy is being sponsored by Open Roads Complete RV, which was represented by owner Drew Tutton at an orientation session held for these students the previous week. Over the course of the next two months, students in the 2020 Student Leadership Academy will convene for comprehensive sessions that facilitate a better understanding of leadership qualities and principles. Sessions also will focus on developing skills in team building, conflict resolution, communication, and networking.

In order to participate in the Student Leadership Academy, students were required to complete an application process that included a panel interview. They also had to meet GPA requirements and demonstrate evidence of community or work-related activities. The Chattahoochee Tech students selected for participation in the college’s 2020 Student Leadership Academy are Mikayla Alexis, Ainsley Armstrong, Eileen Carr, Jada Drake, Jemetria Mabrey and Monique Ubani.
