All documentation received by Disability Support Services is secured and considered confidential. The specific disability is not disclosed to anyone without the written permission of the student. Students may wish to complete a FERPA release form, so that information might be shared with parents and vocational rehabilitation counselors if necessary.
Documentation should indicate how the disability should be accommodated within reasonable means. Those recommendations will be taken into consideration when an accommodation plan is determined during intake. Students should be aware that accommodations only change the means in which information is provided. Standards set down by Chattahoochee Technical College or by TCSG cannot be waived or changed.
Disabilities include, but are not limited to: attention deficit disorder, brain injury or neurological impairment, autism and related disorders, communication disorders, chronic illness and medical impairments, hearing impairments, learning disabilities, motor or mobility impairments, psychological or psychiatric impairments or visual impairments. More information on disability documentation, services, technology and accommodations an be discussed with the Disability Support Services staff.
