Intensive English Program: Marietta Campus

For immigrants with limited English proficiency, Chatt Tech also offers free basic to intermediate English as a Second Language (ESL) classes at the Canton, Cartersville, North Metro, and Paulding campuses.

Focus:

Our Intensive English Program (IEP) is an affordable, high quality English language study program that prepares students for academic life in college. We are located on Marietta campus of Chattahoochee Technical College, northwest of Atlanta, GA. The college is certified to issue I-20 for F-1 students in the program.

Students can be enrolled full-time or part-time depending on which ESL courses they desire.

Students who finish our program are ready to enter any college within the Technical College System of Georgia.

Upon completion of 30 credit hours, students can transfer easily to any public university in the state of Georgia.

We accept students on F-1, F-2, B-1, B-2, J-1, and J-2 visas in the Intensive English Program, as well as local residents.

Duration:

  • 8 Levels from Beginner to Advanced
  • 8 Weeks per level (called Terms)
  • 5 Terms each calendar year: Spring 1, Spring 2, Summer, Fall 1, and Fall 2

  • Grammar
  • Reading Comprehension and Vocabulary
  • Academic Writing
  • Integrated Skills (all skills in one course)
  • Speaking and Listening

Tuition

Tuition per term:

  • Full-Time: $1,580 (all 5 courses)
  • Part-Time: $340 per course
Refunds:
  • A request for a refund, other than a course cancelled by Chatt Tech, must be made prior to a course beginning.
  • Only tuition is refunded. Late fees are nonrefundable.
  • No refunds (partial or full) are issued after classes have started even if the student has not attended class.
Late Fees: 
  • Tuition is late after the payment deadline.
  • Late fees will be applied according to the following:
    • Full-Time: $70
    • Part-Time: $20 per course

International Students on F-1 Student Visas:

The following documents must be submitted to InternationalServices@ChattahoocheeTech.edu in one email with your name in the subject line:

  1. Intensive English Program Application
  2. I-20 Request Form and a current active I-20 form if transferring from another school.
  3. Proof of Financial Funding
  4. Affidavit of Financial Support (if using a financial sponsor)
  5. Passport copy of first page and/or U.S.A. visa page (if changing status)
  6. Copy of I-94 form if you have entered the U.S.A.

  • Monday/Wednesday:
    • 8:30 am – 10:15 am: Grammar
    • 10:30 am – 12:15 pm: Writing
    • 12:30 pm – 2:15 pm: Reading
  • Tuesday/Thursday:
    • 8:30 am – 10:15 am: Speaking
    • 10:30 am – 12:15 pm: Int. Skills
