Chattahoochee Technical College Announces Expansion of Workforce Training Programs at South Cobb Campus

Chattahoochee Technical College has announced significant plans to expand program offerings at its South Cobb campus in Austell to meet the region’s rapidly growing workforce development needs. The announcement coincides with a ribbon‑cutting ceremony held September 1 on campus celebrating a new collaborative training initiative with Yancey Brothers Co., Georgia’s oldest equipment dealer and a major employer in the state’s construction and heavy equipment industries.

Through this partnership, newly hired Yancey Brothers employees may complete Chattahoochee Tech’s Heavy Diesel Service Technician Certificate program on the Austell campus. Participants will receive hands‑on training in theory, diagnosis, and repair of basic systems on diesel engines and diesel equipment, such as large off-road equipment, while beginning their employment with Yancey Brothers. The collaboration strengthens workforce pipelines in transportation, logistics, and equipment operations—fields experiencing high demand across Georgia.

Local and state officials, community leaders, and Chattahoochee Tech faculty and staff attended the ribbon cutting, underscoring the importance of industry‑education partnerships in supporting regional economic growth.
