Accelerated Career

Info Page Header Graphic

Accelerated Career pathways offer qualified students a unique path to high school graduation. Students choose to simultaneously earn a high school diploma and a college Associate Degree, Technical Diploma, or two (2) Technical Certificates of Credit (TCCs) in a specific career pathway. Some of the required high school courses may be taken under the state-funded Dual Enrollment program.

Accelerated Career Pathways give eligible students an exciting opportunity to fast-track their education. With this program, students can earn both a high school diploma and one of the following:

  • Two (2) Published Technical Certificates (TCC) or
  • A Technical Diploma or
  • A Published Program Leading to Licensure (PLL) or
  • An Associates of Applied Science Degree

Students pursuing Technical Certificates of Credit (TCCs) can combine two TCCs within the same program area, as outlined in the published guidelines, to meet the requirements for the Accelerated Career Diploma (ACD). If a student wishes to pair TCCs from different but closely related program areas, they must obtain prior approval from the Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG) before enrolling. This ensures that the selected combination aligns with industry standards and provides a cohesive educational pathway for career readiness. By focusing on a specific career pathway, students gain the skills needed for success. The “ACE” Grant covers the cost of the chosen pathway, and students must enroll in one of the 22 colleges within the Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG).
