Dual Achievement Program (DAP) Application Process

Info Page Header Graphic
Counselors may refer any viable candidate to the DAP Admissions Coordinator, Jonathon Huber, to begin a discussion about the application process. Below are the steps for identifying and referring new candidates for the program.

  1. The counselor/parent/candidate verifies that the following eligibility requirements are met:
    • The candidate must turn 16 before entering the program (and must complete all coursework for graduation before turning 22).
    • The candidate must have lived in the state of Georgia for 12 months before their admission to the program and be a legal resident of the United States.
    • The candidate must have already earned a minimum of 6 core-subject credits at their current/prior high school.
  2. The counselor/parent/candidate reviews the pathway options listed on pages 3-4 of the Dual Achievement flyer to identify which of the 20+ pathway options available in DAP is of interest to the student.
  3. A counselor, parent, or student may send the high school transcript showing eligibility and also provide an indication of which academic pathway the student is interested in pursuing to Jonathon Huber. They may also call Jonathon Huber directly with any questions or concerns at: 770-528-4902.
  4. The candidate and parent/guardian/counselor will schedule a meeting (in-person at the Dual Achievement offices on the Marietta campus or on Zoom) with the Admission Coordinator. During this meeting, we discuss a possible academic path for the student within Dual Achievement, explore all the coursework/classes required to complete the certificates of interest, look at a tentative timeline for completion of high school and college coursework, and make sure the candidate has a clear understanding of the commitment involved in entering the program.
  5. If the candidate and parent/guardian (if the student is under 18) conclude after the meeting that DAP is a good fit, the Admissions Coordinator will send an online application link to the candidate and parent/guardian, and guide them through the multi-step admissions process.
