Assessment Overview

The Technical College System of Georgia began administering the written portion of the Roadway Testing Technician (RTT) and the Quality Control Technician (QCT) Level 1 Certification examinations, effective July 1, 2016. The field potion of the examinations will be administered by the Georgia Department of Transportation’s Office of Materials and Testing Staff at the Central Laboratory in Forest Park, Georgia, or at the Branch Laboratory associated with each of the Department’s Field Districts.

Registration Process

1. Register and pay online for an appointment to take the GDOT RTT or QCT written exam. Walk-in registrations are also available Only for GDOT RTT or QCT Asphalt written exams. GDOT QCT Aggregate written exams must be scheduled four (4) days in advance of desired exam date.
2. On the test date, please bring a valid government issued Photo ID. If using the walk-in option, also bring a credit/debit card for payment.
3. Test will be scored and results will be provided immediately following test completion.
