Grievances

Info Page Header Graphic

A grievance is a concern with the College brought forth by a student, staff, faculty member, or community member. It is a formal complaint that is investigated, mediated, and resolved by the Student Conduct Officer. Should a complaint need to be routed to an appropriate office for further investigation, the Student Conduct Officer facilitates this exchange. All information and supporting documentation concerning a grievance are kept on file by the College. Please note, academic-related grievances will be routed to the associate dean or dean of that department.

Grievance Procedures

Chattahoochee Technical College is committed to resolving all student grievances, complaints, and concerns promptly, fairly, and respectfully. All grievances, complaints, and concerns must first be addressed through the college’s official process before being submitted to the Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG).

Only if a resolution cannot be reached at the institutional level—or if the nature or impact of the issue clearly warrants immediate review—may the matter be escalated to TCSG. In such cases, please complete the official TCSG complaint form.

Students residing outside of the state of Georgia who are taking an online course who find the Grievance Process outlined above does not satisfactorily resolve a complaint may submit the complaint to TCSG using the Program Integrity Complaint Form.

A student may also appeal to the Georgia Nonpublic Postsecondary Education Commission (GNPEC) if the institution’s and TCSG’s resolution is not satisfactory. Students must ensure they have followed the school’s process prior to submitting to either TCSG or GNPEC.

If you have any questions, please email Grievances@ChattahoocheeTech.edu

Out-of-state Online Students:

Any complaints pertaining to a Chattahoochee Technical College online course or program should be submitted to Chattahoochee Tech using the Grievance Process form.

Complaints needing further investigation beyond the college level may be submitted to TCSG using the Program Integrity Complaint Form. Before submitting to TCSG, students need to ensure they have followed the Chattahoochee Technical College’s process.

A student may appeal to the  Georgia Nonpublic Postsecondary Education Commission (GNPEC) if the Chattahppchee Tech’s and TCSG’s resolution is not satisfactory; however, please note that the Commission will not investigate a complaint unless the student has exhausted all available grievance procedures outlined by the institution. GNPEC does not resolve complaints about student grades and student conduct violations. These complaints fall under the jurisdiction of institutional policy.
