Okta Authentication

Info Page Header Graphic

Okta Instructions

When you first log in to Okta, you will be prompted to set up multifactor authentication (MFA) using the Okta Verify app. This gives you the option to use a rotating 6-digit code provided by the app for MFA, or by receiving a push notification.

When setting up Okta, please note that you will need access to either a laptop or desktop computer, as well as your mobile device. During the setup, your account will present you with a unique QR code that will need to be scanned into the Okta Verify app with your mobile device.

Once you have logged into Okta, you will be able to access your dashboard, which will provide tiles you can click on to access online services such as Office 365, Blackboard, and the Student Portal.

In the event that you are using Okta Verify and begin using a new phone, this will require you to contact the student helpdesk and verify your identity to have your Okta MFA cleared so they can be reconnected.

Troubleshooting

If you are having issues with your username:

Find your student email using the Student ID, Email, and Username Lookup tool.

If you are having issues with your password:

Reset your password using the Password Reset tool.

Your new password will be sent to the personal email account (Gmail, Yahoo, etc.) that is connected to your academic record.

I have a new phone, what do I do to reconnect it to Okta?

If you are a student using Okta Verify and begin using a new phone, this will require you to contact the student helpdesk and verify your identity to have your Okta MFA cleared so they can be reconnected.

If you are a faculty or staff member using Okta Verify and begin using a new phone, this will require you to contact your supervisor, who can then submit a ticket to have your Okta MFA cleared so they can be reconnected.
