General Scholarships

The following scholarships are not program, campus or residence specific. Any CTC qualified student may apply or be nominated by a faculty or staff member. Please read the requirements carefully since scholarship requirements vary.

AT&T Scholarship Award

Applicant must:

  1. Be enrolled as a full-time student
  2. Have completed one year of study
  3. Have maintained a minimum 3.0 GPA by the end of Spring semester
  4. Submit a completed scholarship application
  5. Submit an essay demonstrating financial need and deserving qualities
  6. Provide up-to-date faculty/staff reference contact information on scholarship application
  7. Preference given to students demonstrating a commitment to community service.

Barrow Family Scholarship

Applicant must:

  1. Be enrolled as a full-time student
  2. Have completed six credit hours of study
  3. Have maintained a minimum 2.0 GPA by the end of Spring semester
  4. Submit a completed scholarship application
  5. Submit an essay demonstrating financial need and deserving qualities
  6. Provide up-to-date faculty/staff reference contact information on scholarship application

Billy Askea Endowed Scholarship

Applicant must:

  1. Be enrolled as a full-time student
  2. Have maintained a minimum 3.0 GPA by the end of Spring semester
  3. Submit a completed scholarship application
  4. Submit an essay demonstrating financial need and deserving qualities
  5. Provide up-to-date faculty/staff reference contact information on scholarship application

Craig & Glinda Douglass Endowed Scholarship

Applicant must:

  1. Be enrolled as a full-time student
  2. Be a student in Good Standing with CTC (Have a GPA of 2.0 or higher)
  3. Submit a completed scholarship application
  4. Submit an essay demonstrating financial need and deserving qualities
  5. Provide up-to-date faculty/staff reference contact information on scholarship application 

Georgia Power Endowed Scholarship

Applicant must:

  1. Be enrolled as a full-time student
  2. Have maintained a minimum 3.0 GPA by the end of Spring semester
  3. Be committed to technical education
  4. Submit a completed scholarship application
  5. Submit an essay demonstrating financial need and deserving qualities
  6. Provide up-to-date faculty/staff reference contact information on scholarship application

Harlon D. Crimm Endowed Scholarship

Applicant must:

  1. Be enrolled as a full-time student
  2. Have maintained a minimum 3.0 GPA by the end of Spring semester
  3. Submit a completed scholarship application
  4. Submit an essay demonstrating financial need and deserving qualities
  5. Provide up-to-date faculty/staff reference contact information on scholarship application

Jack Vaughan, Jr. Endowed Scholarship – NOMINATION REQUIRED

Students must be nominated by a faculty/staff member. (See additional essay instructions below.)
Faculty/Staff Nomination Form

Nominee must:

  1. Complete a scholarship application form
  2. Be enrolled as a full-time student
  3. Maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0 by the end of Spring semester
  4. Demonstrate financial need
  5. Submit an essay that should include the following:
    • Commitment to technical education
    • Describe need concerning unrelated school expenditures, (i.e. childcare, living costs, medical needs and other expenses that might constitute problems with school costs incurred);
    • Describe educational goals and future plans. 

Mark Whitfield Scholarship of Excellence: (Preference given – see below)

Award given on availability of funds.

Applicant must:

  1. Be currently enrolled as a full-time student at CTC – with preference given to Appalachian Campus students.
  2. Possess a High School Diploma or GED
  3. Be enrolled in a diploma or associate degree program
  4. Submit a completed scholarship application
  5. Submit an essay demonstrating financial need and deserving qualities
  6. Have maintained a minimum 3.0 GPA by the end of Spring semester
  7. Provide up-to-date faculty/staff reference contact information on scholarship application

Milton Ratner Foundation Endowed Scholarship

Applicant must:

  1. Be a full-time student currently enrolled in a diploma or associate degree program
  2. Have maintained a minimum 3.0 GPA by the end of Spring semester
  3. Submit a completed scholarship application
  4. Submit an essay demonstrating financial need and deserving qualities; (i.e. character, goals and objectives).
  5. Provide up-to-date faculty/staff reference contact information on scholarship application

Robert and Cheryl Moultrie Endowed Scholarship

Applicant must:

  1. Be enrolled as a full-time student
  2. Have maintained a minimum 3.5 GPA by the end of Spring semester
  3. Submit a completed scholarship application
  4. Submit an essay demonstrating financial need and deserving qualities
  5. Provide up-to-date faculty/staff reference contact information on scholarship application

Tull Charitable Foundation Endowed Scholarship

Applicant must:

  1. Be enrolled as a full-time student
  2. Have maintained a minimum 3.0 GPA by the end of Spring semester
  3. Submit a completed scholarship application
