Information for Graduating Students
To be eligible to graduate with a degree, diploma or certificate from Chattahoochee Technical College, a student must satisfactorily complete the program of study in which he/she is enrolled with a program grade point average of 2.0. All students must have completed a high school diploma or GED certificate before graduating from Chattahoochee Technical College.
A student’s academic record will be evaluated by the Director of Records for any and all credentials earned to determine if graduation requirements have been met. If a student’s enrollment has not been continuous since initial matriculation to the college, his/her record will be evaluated for graduation based on the catalog in effect at the time of readmission.
Students that submit their petitions by the posted deadline are guaranteed a pre-audit of their program of study prior to the end of the term.

To participate in commencement ceremonies, attendance at a commencement meeting is MANDATORY, and all students must pay a $35 non-refundable ceremony fee.

Monday, March 30, 2015, at the Marietta Campus- Building F, Room 1129 at 6 p.m.
Tuesday, March 31, 2015, at the North Metro Campus – Building B, Room 214 at 4 p.m.
Tuesday, March 31, 2015, at the North Metro Campus – Building B, Room 214 at 6 p.m.
Wednesday, April 1, 2015, at the Canton Campus – Room A101 at 6 p.m.
Caps and Gowns
All candidates for graduation will wear black robes, caps, and tassels.
Caps and gowns can be pre-ordered through the Marietta Campus or North Metro Campus bookstore. Information regarding pre-orders will be sent to those graduates with a Petition for Graduation on file. Cap and gown size is determined by height and weight. Graduates will provide measurements to the bookstore representative upon placing an order.
The designated times caps and gowns will be available for pick up at the bookstores will be announced at the mandatory commencement meetings.

There is a $35.00 (plus tax) charge for the caps and gowns. The cost of the cap and gown is in addition to the $35.00 non-refundable ceremony fee charged by the college. A graduate can expect the total cost of participation in commencement to be approximately $70.00.
Candidates for graduation with an overall, cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 4.0 are entitled to wear gold honor cords during the Commencement ceremony.
The GPA used in determining eligibility for this honor will be the student’s current cumulative, overall GPA at the time of the mandatory commencement meetings. This grade point average (GPA) will be verified prior to the commencement meetings. The honor cords are provided by the college and will be presented to the respective graduates at the commencement meetings.
Cords and tassels for the members of the National Technical Honor Society (NTHS) are distributed by the Office of Campus Life. Please visit Student Clubs and Organizations for eligibility requirements and contact information for club/organization advisors.
Any additional regalia recognizing individual accomplishment or departmental honors must be approved by the Director of Records.
Suggestions for Dress
Chattahoochee Technical College does not have a formal dress code for graduates. However, we do ask that graduates respect the significance of the day and dress appropriately.
Candidates for graduation will wear tassels on the right sides of their caps until all degrees, diplomas and certificates have been announced by the Chattahoochee Technical College President or Provost. After the conferral, graduates will grasp the tassel with the left hand and transfer it to the left side of the cap.
Chattahoochee Technical College does not offer announcements for graduates to purchase at this time.

- Seats are available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
- Graduates may invite as many guests as they would like to attend the Commencement ceremony.

The college is unable to reserve seating for guests with special needs. Please arrive early if you have specific seating needs.
Chattahoochee Technical College does not currently provide professional photos for purchase.
Personal photographs may be taken during the commencement ceremony. However, guests and graduates may be restricted from photographing from certain areas.
