Restricted Scholarships

 

The following scholarships are restricted either by residence, campus, or program requirements. Each set of requirements are different, so please read carefully. (Note: Two of the following scholarships may be applied for by a high school senior as indicated.)

Cleo Ingram Scholarship of Nursing (Appalachian Campus Nursing Students)

Award given based on availability of funds.

Applicant must:

  1. Be enrolled full-time in the nursing program at the Appalachian Campus
  2. Must carry a 3.0 GPA and be maintaining satisfactory progress according to college policy
  3. Submit a completed scholarship application
  4. Submit an essay demonstrating financial need and deserving qualities
  5. Provide up-to-date faculty/staff reference contact information on scholarship application (may be from high school)

Coplon Family Memorial Scholarship (Business Administrative Technology Students)

Applicant must:

  1. Be enrolled full-time in the Business Administrative Technology Associate of Applied Science Degree program
  2. Must carry a 3.0 GPA and be maintaining satisfactory progress according to college policy
  3. Submit a completed scholarship application
  4. Submit an essay demonstrating financial need and deserving qualities
  5. Provide up-to-date faculty/staff reference contact information on scholarship application

Culinary Arts Scholarship (2 scholarships available-see criteria below)

Applicant must:

  1. Have successfully completed 6 culinary arts credits at the time of the award (August)
  2. Must carry a 3.0 GPA and be maintaining satisfactory progress according to college policy
  3. Submit a completed scholarship application
  4. Submit an essay demonstrating financial need and deserving qualities
  5. Provide up-to-date faculty/staff reference contact information on scholarship application

Applicant must:

  1. Have successfully completed 21 culinary arts credits at the time of the award (August)
  2. Must carry a 2.5 GPA and be maintaining satisfactory progress according to college policy
  3. Submit a completed scholarship application
  4. Submit an essay demonstrating financial need and deserving qualities
  5. Provide up-to-date faculty/staff reference contact information on scholarship application 

Ed Voyles Automotive Group (Automotive Technology Students)

Applicant must:

  1. Be enrolled full-time in the an Automotive Technology Program
  2. Must carry a 3.0 GPA and be maintaining satisfactory progress according to college policy
  3. Submit a completed scholarship application
  4. Submit an essay demonstrating financial need and deserving qualities
  5. Provide up-to-date faculty/staff reference contact information on scholarship application 

GreyStone Power Scholarship (Tim B. Clower)

This scholarship is given to students who reside within the GreyStone Power Service area. Applications will be reviewed and screened to meet criteria and be submitted to GreyStone Power Foundation for final clarification.

Applicants must:

  1. Reside in GreyStone Power service area
  2. Carry a 3.0 GPA and be maintaining satisfactory progress according to college policy
  3. Submit a completed scholarship application
  4. Submit an essay demonstrating financial need and deserving qualities
  5. Provide up-to-date faculty/staff reference contact information on scholarship application

Helen E. Roper Foundation Endowed Scholarship in Nursing

Applicant must be pursuing or preparing to pursue a career in Health Occupations, and be:

  1. A graduating senior of Pickens High School or -
  2. Possess a GED or -
  3. Be a current full-time student at the Appalachian Campus of CTC

Applicant must:

  1. Submit a completed scholarship application
  2. Submit an essay demonstrating financial need and deserving qualities
  3. If a current student, must maintain a 3.0 GPA by the end of Spring semester
  4. Provide up-to-date faculty/staff reference contact information on scholarship application (may be from high school, GED instructor OR college)

Jonquil Club of Smyrna Scholarship (Horticulture Students)

Applicant must:

  1. Be enrolled as a part-time or full-time student in the Environmental Horticulture Program
  2. Have maintained a minimum 3.0 GPA by the end of Spring semester
  3. Submit a completed scholarship application form
  4. Submit an essay demonstrating financial need and deserving qualities
  5. Provide up-to-date faculty/staff reference contact information on scholarship application

KCMA Corporation (Diesel Technology Students)

Applicant must:

  1. Be enrolled part-time or full-time in the Diesel Technology Program
  2. Must carry a 3.0 GPA and be maintaining satisfactory progress according to college policy
  3. Must be within one year of graduating in Diesel Tech Program
  4. Submit a completed scholarship application
  5. Submit an essay demonstrating financial need and deserving qualities
  6. Provide up-to-date faculty/staff reference contact information on scholarship application 

Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Endowed Scholarship (Technical or STEM* Program of Study) – NOMINATION REQUIRED

Students must be nominated by a faculty/staff member.
Faculty/Staff Nomination Form

Nominee must:

  1. Be enrolled as a full-time student
  2. Must be enrolled in a Technical or STEM* program of study
  3. Have maintained a minimum 3.0 GPA by the end of Spring semester
  4. Submit a completed scholarship application
  5. Submit an essay demonstrating financial need and deserving qualities

*STEM – involves the categories of science, technology, engineering and mathematics.

Mosley Endowed Automotive Scholarship (High School/GED & Automotive Technology)

Restricted to Gilmer or Pickens County High School Graduating Senior or GED equivalent pursuing a career in Automotive Technology at the Appalachian Campus of CTC

Applicant must:

  1. Be a Gilmer or Pickens County resident, a graduating senior of a high school in one of those counties, or have an equivalent GED
  2. Be prepared to pursue a career in Automotive Technology at the Appalachian Campus of Chattahoochee Technical College
  3. Submit a completed scholarship application
  4. Submit an essay demonstrating financial need and deserving qualities
  5. Provide up-to-date faculty/staff reference contact information on scholarship application from your school

Phyllis Abby Lantz Scholarship (Associate of Science in Nursing)

Applicant must:

  1. Be enrolled part-time or full-time in the Associate of Science in Nursing program
  2. Must carry a 3.0 GPA and be maintaining satisfactory progress according to college policy
  3. Submit a completed scholarship application
  4. Submit an essay demonstrating financial need and deserving qualities
  5. Provide up-to-date faculty/staff reference contact information on scholarship application
  6. Preference will be given to Pickens or Gilmer County residents. 

Ron Greene Memorial Academic Leadership Scholarship

Award given based on availability of funds.
Applicant must:

  1. Be enrolled full-time or part-time
  2. Must carry a 3.0 GPA and be maintaining satisfactory progress according to college policy
  3. Must hold, or have held, a position within an active Student Club or within Student Government
  4. Submit a completed scholarship application
  5. Submit an essay discussing what it means to be a student leader at CTC (for high school students, their former school)
  6. Provide up-to-date faculty/staff reference contact information on scholarship application.
  7. This scholarship is meant to assist students who are active in leadership roles at their school and help promote activity within student government and campus clubs. The scholarship will go toward school needs, including first and foremost, tuition and books.

Rotary Club of East Cobb (East Cobb Resident OR Attend Mt. View Campus)

This scholarship is restricted to students who attend the Mt. View Campus of Chattahoochee Technical College OR reside in East Cobb if they are a student at another campus.

Applicant must:

  1. Be an East Cobb resident or attend the Mt. View Campus
  2. Be enrolled as a part-time or full-time student
  3. Have maintained a minimum 3.0 GPA by the end of Spring semester
  4. Submit a completed scholarship application
  5. Submit an essay demonstrating financial need and deserving qualities
  6. Provide up-to-date faculty/staff reference contact information on scholarship application

Rotary Club of Paulding County (Paulding Resident OR Attend Paulding Campus)

This scholarship is restricted to students who attend the Paulding Campus of Chattahoochee Technical College OR reside in Paulding County if they are a student at another campus.

Applicant must:

  1. Be a Paulding County resident or attend the Paulding Campus
  2. Be enrolled as a full-time student
  3. Have maintained a minimum 3.0 GPA by the end of Spring semester
  4. Submit a completed scholarship application
  5. Submit an essay demonstrating financial need and deserving qualities
  6. Provide up-to-date faculty/staff reference contact information on scholarship application

Scott MacKenzie Memorial Scholarship (Business Science Program & Active Military or Discharged Veteran) for textbooks only

Applicant must:

  1. Be a Business Science Program major and must be active duty military or honorably discharged veteran
  2. Be enrolled as a part-time or full-time student
  3. Have maintained a minimum 3.0 GPA by the end of Spring semester
  4. Submit a completed scholarship application
  5. Submit an essay demonstrating financial need and deserving qualities
  6. Provide up-to-date faculty/staff reference contact information on scholarship application 

Stephen J. Gilbert Memorial Scholarship (Electrical/Computer Engineering Technology Program)

Applicants must:

  1. Be enrolled in the Electrical/Computer Engineering Technology program
  2. Be enrolled as a full-time student
  3. Have maintained a minimum 3.0 GPA by the end of Spring semester
  4. Submit a completed scholarship application
  5. Submit an essay demonstrating financial need, goals and aspirations
  6. Provide a up-to-date faculty/staff reference contact information on scholarship application

Students who reach the final semester of study while on the Stephen J. Gilbert Memorial Scholarship, and who have maintained a 3.0 GPA or higher, will receive $750.00 for tuition and fees for that final semester.

Stephen J. Gilbert Memorial Scholarship students completing their Electrical/Computer Engineering Technology program of study who achieve a final semester GPA of 3.5 or higher may be awarded an additional $500.

Suggs Endowed Scholarship (Bartow County Residents)

Applicant must:

  1. Be currently enrolled in a full-time program and be a resident of Bartow County
  2. Have maintained a minimum 3.0 GPA by the end of Spring semester
  3. Submit a completed scholarship application
  4. Submit an essay demonstrating financial need and deserving qualities
  5. Preference given to: Woodland High School graduate and/or a Student enrolled in Industrial Systems Technology at CTC
  6. Provide up-to-date faculty/staff reference contact information on scholarship application

Tara Drummond Memorial Scholarship (Criminal Justice Program)

Applicant must:

  1. Be a enrolled full-time in the Criminal Justice program
  2. Have maintained a minimum 3.0 GPA by the end of Spring semester
  3. Submit a completed scholarship application
  4. Submit an essay demonstrating financial need and deserving qualities
  5. Provide up-to-date faculty/staff reference contact information on scholarship application

Tommy Hembree Endowed Scholarship (HVAC Students Only)

This scholarship will underwrite costs of tuition, books or tools up to amount of award. Payment for tools will be made directly to vendor; tuition and book payments will be made directly to the college. To qualify the student must:

  1. Be a currently enrolled student in the Chattahoochee Technical College HVAC program.
  2. Strong consideration will be given to students in VICA competitions.
  3. Student must demonstrate financial need and strong academic achievement
  4. Submit a completed scholarship application
  5. Submit an essay demonstrating financial need and deserving qualities
  6. Provide up-to-date faculty/staff reference contact information on scholarship application
