Camellia Hospice is dedicated to providing palliative and hospice care in a caring and compassionate manner that enhances the quality of life of the clients served. Volunteer opportunities include providing companionship, caregiver relief, spiritual support or creating gifts for patients. Clerical support is also needed in the hospice office. Volunteers are asked to serve a minimum of 3 hours per month. NOTE: All volunteers must complete a background check and driver’s license.

Crossroads Hospice provides medical and emotional support to patients at the end of their life. We have an ongoing need for volunteers to sit with patients to provide companionship and social support. Training provided, and a 3-month commitment is required. Volunteer opportunities are flexible, and available on evenings and weekends. Great opportunity for students interested in careers in healthcare or social work. Gentiva Hospice provides compassionate care to those at the end of life’s journey through clinical excellence and uncompromising service. Volunteers can assist with patient support in nursing homes or administrative support in the Cartersville office. Volunteers are required to serve at least 3 months.

Halycyon Hospice provides palliative care and support to terminally ill patients and their families in Atlanta, Cumming, Tucker and Villa Rica. The care focuses on enhancing a patient’s comfort and overall quality of life and is provided in the patient’s home, assisted living facility, nursing home or hospital. There are many volunteer opportunities from clerical support and special events to reading to patients. Medical Office Volunteers assist office managers with ordering supplies, creating and maintaining patient charts, etc. Activities Volunteers help with Bingo, crafts, ice cream socials etc at Assisted Living Facilities and Skilled Nursing Facilities. Volunteers can also help with Project Bloom to arrange and deliver flowers to hospice patients. There are some volunteer projects that can be done from your home like making holiday cards or preparing mailings. All volunteers are required to have a background check and a PPD and to complete orientation.
