College Fair Aims to Help Students Explore Higher Education Options

(Marietta, Ga. – Sept. 8, 2016)

Career Services at Chattahoochee Technical College is encouraging local students to explore their options for higher education by hosting the Fall 2016 College Fair on Thursday, Sept. 15, in the atrium of the Marietta Campus, located at 980 S. Cobb Drive. Recruiters from 20 colleges and universities will be on hand to speak with current students about pursuing higher-education degrees after graduation.

The college fair, which will run from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., is also open to local high school students just beginning the college search and the community at-large.

“Partnerships between CTC and four-year colleges and universities are extremely important because many of our students want to receive four-year degrees. At the college fair, they can speak with actual individuals from these institutions,” said CTC Career Services Specialist Davia Woulard. “Students will have the opportunity to ask questions pertaining to financial aid options, student life, athletics, transferring credits and all that these institutions have to offer.”

According to Woulard, more than 95 high school students from Sprayberry and Lassiter are expected to attend the Fall 2016 College Fair. Among the participating colleges and universities are Georgia State University, Kennesaw State University, Reinhardt University, Columbus State University, Mercer University and Valdosta State University.

Representatives from Chattahoochee Tech’s admissions department will also be available to provide information about the state’s largest technical college.

“We are so thankful that students choose to attend CTC, but if their goal is to receive a four-year degree after graduation, we want to provide all the services we can to make this goal attainable,” Woulard said. “The college fair opens many doors for students in educational advancement and growth, which ultimately allows them to compete in today’s job market.”
