(Marietta, Ga. – March 27, 2014) In what is being called the largest college and career fair yet, Chattahoochee Technical College announced more than 80 companies and colleges/universities will be on hand to talk with students, alumni and the community at the Spring Career Fair. Scheduled for April 16 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Marietta Campus on South Cobb Drive, career opportunities will range from full-time and part-time openings to seasonal and temporary positions with many of the region’s top employers. Local colleges and universities will also be on hand to discuss transfer options for those wanting to pursue a 4-year degree.
“We are seeing an upturn in the number of positions available and the number of companies hiring,” said Chattahoochee Technical College Career Services Specialist Jesse Moyers. “Employers tell us that they are having a hard time finding qualified applicants for many positions. With the education that Chattahoochee Technical College students receive, our students have a leg up on the competition to get noticed by these companies.”
Moyers stresses the importance of preparation for events like the Chattahoochee Technical College and Career Fair. Participants and encouraged to come with copies of their resume and dressed professionally for an interview. Also available this semester will be a LinkedIn Photo Booth where participants can have a professional head shot taken for social media free of charge. The photos, which will be available for download, can be used on sites such as LinkedIn that aid users in job searches.
