Chattahoochee Technical College to Host Canon DSLR Showcase

(Marietta, Ga. – Oct. 8, 2013) Photography is one of people’s favorite and most listed hobbies and desired professions. Chattahoochee Technical College Instructor Ian Feinberg hopes that people wanting to learn more about the techniques and abilities of the popular line of Canon DSLR cameras will appreciate a 2-hour showcase offered at the college’s Mountain View Campus on Wednesday, Oct. 16 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

“DSLR cameras are being used more and more in digital production and digital cinematography,” said Feinberg. “Professional grade equipment is becoming increasingly available and user friendly, enabling enthusiasts and professionals alike to create stunning, professional quality work. Participants can learn more about the latest technology and how to take advantage of it.”

The technical workshop will be presented by Canon Pro Market Specialist to cover camera operations and benefits. Scheduled topics include shooting with a DSLR, menu and setup functions, lens and accessory selection, frame rates, lenses and post work flow.

The free event is provided by Canon Professional Products and hosted by Chattahoochee Technical College’s Television Production Technology Program. Snacks and beverages will be provided, as well as tours of the Television Production facilities on that campus.

Taught at the college’s Mountain View Campus, television production technology students at CTC learn the behind-the-scene skills necessary to produce TV news, documentaries and entertainment shows. In addition to learning to operate cameras in the studio and in the field, students learn about production, directing, writing, lighting, editing, audio, graphics and digital-animation skills.
